Sophisticated urban bathroom. Big-city style.
Life in a real New York loft was the design inspiration for Jeff M., a jet-setting fund manager returning home to his Surfers Paradise apartment after a two-year stint in the USA. The stylish, urban-orientated bathroom renovation was achieved by the owner working with a WHO Bathroom Warehouse consultant to decide on fixtures and fittings.
After returning home Jeff realised the apartment he purchased in 2005 was in desperate need of a general facelift as well as a kitchen and bathroom update. “While I was away in New York I rented my apartment to some friends,” said Jeff. “They took very good care of it so my reasons for updating weren’t due to any wear and tear from renting.”
Jeff’s high-powered job led him to spend time in the apartments of a number of high level New York business executives. “Most of these executives had extremely busy lives and not a lot of spare time,” mentioned Jeff. “The tendency was to decorate apartments in a sophisticated, no-fuss way and keep kitchens and bathrooms streamlined but with the most up-to-date conveniences and appliances. I really liked this look and thought it would be perfect for my Surfers Paradise apartment.”
Today’s technology has also allowed more and more people to work from a home office. The nature of Jeff’s work meant he didn’t have to operate from head office all of the time. “The home office phenomenon is another reason I wanted to update,” said Jeff. “I often held business meetings from home and entertained clients in my apartment. I needed a look that reflected my own taste but also served as a stylish business space.”
When it came to the bathroom update Jeff went straight to WHO Bathroom Warehouse. “I needed something that served both as a private bathroom and home office bathroom. I thought a sleek, urban-orientated New York City style would be perfect for this purpose,” remarked Jeff.
WHO Bathroom consultants easily understood Jeff’s big city style bathroom requirements and were able to deliver exactly what he wanted. To help achieve the sleek sophisticated look they used Elite-S 1800mm two drawer wall hung vanity cabinet with Wenge colour drawer faces, a black star quartz stone vanity benchtop and two WB-502 vanity basins. A top-of-the-line Olivia Ellen black and white free standing bath in the “Yarra” design added a further touch of luxury.
“I’m extremely happy with my new bathroom,” said Jeff. “It’s exactly what I had in mind and the WHO Bathroom consultants were extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it came to helping with my bathroom renovations.”
